Meet Dr. Jeffrey E. Calhoun
Dr. Calhoun received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 1975. Following dental school, he specialized in Oral Pathology at the Los Angeles County/University of Southern California Medical Center (Oral Pathology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, including cancer, that occur in and around the oral cavity). After his specialty training, Dr. Calhoun chose to "open shop" here in Lompoc and start his family and dental business. He was a successful father, husband and dental provider for over 40 years!
It has been only recently that they have decided to partially retire and have personally chosen Dr. Art Kaslow and his daughter, Rachael, to take over the quality and care of their patients.
Meet Dr. Art Kaslow
Dr. Kaslow was raised in the Santa Ynez Valley and is well-known among the community, including Lompoc and Santa Maria Valley. He has been working in dentistry for 39 years, and knows how to take care of his patients the best way possible. In addition to general dentistry for children and adults, Dr. Kaslow has advanced training in wisdom teeth surgery, dental implants, full mouth traditional dentures and permanent dentures, cosmetic dentistry and clear aligner orthodontics. He is well known by patients as being honest, gentle and delivering dentistry with no pain.
Dr. Kaslow has three children, eight grandchildren, and has been married for 39 years. He is invested in his local community with his volunteer work with Rotary International, The Vikings of Solvang, The Friendship House, Oak Hills Cemetery, Santa Ynez Valley Opportunity Shop, and The Santa Ynez High School Regional Occupation Program. Local dental laboratories contact him for expert services, including DenMat in Lompoc. In his free time, Dr. Kaslow enjoys coaching youth sports, reading and singing to his grandchildren, backpacking, and woodworking.

Meet Dr. Christopher Truhan
A product of an Air Force military family upbringing and development from coast to coast and in the middle parts of the United States has given Dr. Truhan appreciation for a variety of environments, people, and ways of life. Scholastics, athletics, and respect for people were all major factors growing up.
All that leads to attending Michigan State University for sports and an undergraduate Biological Sciences degree, and then onto the University of Southern California Dental School and a D.D.S. Degree, and obtaining a California State Dental license.
As fate would have it while practicing dentistry in Westlake Village, California, he married a beautiful woman from Lompoc, California. Together with their family, they have endeavored in other dental business worlds, enjoyed being a ten-year teaching professor at the University of Southern California Dental School, and then recharging into dental clinic and private practice dentistry again.
Recently, moving to Lompoc, California to assist with familial support has given Dr. Truhan the opportunity to further familiarize and enjoy the beauty of Lompoc, and its spectacular surroundings and people. He is self driven and very motivated in providing the community with quality dental health care that also contributes to better overall well-being. He looks forward to meeting and helping you at Lompoc Dental and Associates soon.
Meet Dr. Robert Brugnone
Dr. B was born in Northridge, CA but was brought up in a small city in Southeast Michigan. Before dentistry he worked in the banking and hospitality industries, enjoying communication with customers and problem solving. After graduating high school in Michigan, he decided to head back to the California coast for some nice, warm weather.
Since 2004, Dr. B has been a resident of Santa Barbara County. These days he lives at his home with his dog, Koozie, and 3 Nigerian Dwarf Goats, Dusty, Lucky, and Ned, in the Santa Ynez Valley, enjoying the picturesque landscapes, bountiful vineyards, and a relaxed living.
For his undergraduate education, Dr. Brugnone attended Michigan State University, SBCC, and CSU: Channel Islands where he earned his B.S. in Biology. Subsequently, he attended the NYU College of Dentistry and graduated with honors, including advanced training in TMJ therapy. He has practiced in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties alongside some of the most influential mentors. He utilizes state-of-the-art technology and evidence-based dentistry to provide his patients with the most current and accepted practices in the dental field.
Humble, human, empathetic, and kind are a few choice words that describe Dr. B’s character and work manner.
Meet Rachael Van Pelt, RDA
Rachael Van Pelt is a Santa Ynez Valley local and loves to support her community, patients and friends. After completing her Bachelors in Research Psychology at UCSB, she furthered her education by enrolling in a Masters in Clinical Psychology at Alliant International University, Irvine in 2010. She realized shortly after this how much she enjoyed helping people, but found herself returning to the healthcare industry, specifically dental and oral healthcare. After 14 years of successfully managing a local dental office in Solvang, she has decided to focus on her own practice in the Lompoc area, where she feels her education and passion is to help all patients receive high quality dental care at affordable prices.
